The
Duracks

Our
school was named after the pioneering Durack family. Durack's
School culture is based on their history and principles of
dignity and determination. Click

Our
Curriculum

As
with all
government
schools in the NT,
lessons taught at
Durack are based
on the Northern
Territory Curriculum
Framework. The Australian National Curriculum will be introduced in Maths and English in 2012. More

An on site preschool which offers whole day sessions. The preschool's
garden includes a sandpit, pool, climbing frame with slide,
bike track and paddling pool.

|
|
Three playgrounds - These include a small playground designed
for use by our junior school students, a larger one for use
by children in the senior school and our newest playground which
is designed for all.

|
|
Basketball and tennis courts as well as areas for sand play.

|

|
A central library. The library
includes both junior fiction, senior fiction, teacher resource
and non-fiction sections as well as a student work area.
|
|
|
|
|
A multi-purpose hall. The hall
is used for Assemblies, physical education lessons, performances,
our junior school sensory-motor program and for play during recess
and lunch.

|
A Canteen. Our school canteen
is open during Recess and Lunch and offers a wide variety of snacks
and drinks. Lunch ordering is also available through the canteen.

|
|
On site Out of School Hours
Care. This facility provides after school hours and vacation care
for Durack students. This service is currently provided by the
YMCA.

|
|
|
In addition to the above
facilities, large areas of shade and seating have been created
to ensure that students can
eat and play under cover in the heat
of the day.
